It’s great that there are free and easy tools to use to calculate your energy needs, but actually installing a solar power system is still ridiculously expensive. Unless you get paid by the power company for extra energy your system sends back to the grid, it would take decades to pay it off with the cost savings.
Yes, it is well-known fact that PV solar technologies are still too expensive and not very affordable option for the average person but I think that it is important to educate people about solar energy as an abundant and environment-friendly energy source. Bringing an interest in solar energy is a key step to cause a demand for solar products, and when there is a demand on the market the scientists and researchers will find way to make solar technologies more affordable.
